Abidjan, Thursday May 21, 2026,
The General Assembly of NADPA-RAPDP (Network of African Data Protection Authorities / Réseau Africain des Autorités de Protection des Données Personnelles) was held on May 21st, 2026 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
This meeting, which spanned over two days, addressed several major items on the agenda, including the presentation and adoption of the agenda by the General Assembly, the review of the activity reports of the Bureau and existing working groups, as well as deliberations on financial matters and the strategic plan of the Network.
The elected Bureau is composed of:
• Presidency : Comissão Nacional de Protecção de Dados (CNPD), Cape Verde: Mr. Faustino Varela MONTEIRO.
• 1st Vice-Presidency : Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications/TIC de Côte d'Ivoire, Côte d’Ivoire : Ms. Patricia AMAND.
• 2nd Vice-Presidency : Postal & Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), Zimbabwe : Ms. Mariwo TSITSI.
The General Assembly took the opportunity to thank the outgoing Bureau, highlighting the key achievements accomplished during its 2023-2026 mandate, notably the institutionalization of exchanges between Network members. The outgoing Bureau was composed of:
• Presidency : Haute Autorité de Protection des Données à caractère Personnel (HAPDP), Niger : Mr. Adamou IRO.
• 1st Vice-Presidency: Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), Kenya: Ms. Immaculate KASSAIT.
• 2nd Vice-Presidency : Agência de Protecção de Dados (APD), Angola : Ms. Maria Das Dores Jesus Correia PINTO.
It is to be recalled that the permanent secretariat of the Network is provided by the CNDP of Morocco.
NADPA-RAPDP extends its sincere thanks to ARTCI (Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications/TIC) of Ivory Coast for hosting this important event for the Network and for the efforts deployed to ensure its success. It was unanimously decided that the next AGMs will be held as follows:
2027 : Harare, Zimbabwe.
2028 : Accra, Ghana.
