On 5 August, the Data Protection Agency (APD) held a training session for media professionals at its premises in Luanda. Developed in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the initiative aimed to strengthen financial literacy in the field of Private Credit Information Centers (CPIC), by promoting financial inclusion and the responsible use of credit.
The session began with a welcome address by Amaro Santos Figueiredo, Executive Director of APD, who emphasized the important role of journalists in disseminating clear and accessible information about the credit reporting system.
Speaking to the press, the Director underscored the crucial role they play in fostering a culture of transparency and trust between citizens and lending institutions.
The presentations were to shed light on the inner workings of CPICs, the mechanisms for protecting personal data and the anticipated impacts on the Angolan economy.
